Blueberry Scarf with Tassels

Blue Scarf

Scarves are a fun way to add color to your outfits. Scarves are also great gifts for friends and teachers. I enjoy working with ombre yarn, however finding the right pattern for it might be a little tricky. This pattern has been my go to design for scarves since it works up easily and looks really fancy.

Scarf Pattern:

I used the pattern Strawberry Patch Convertible Scarf . I have been using this pattern for years to make gifts for my daughter’s teachers and for fund raising fairs in church.

Yarn Choice:

I used the Blue Blaze yarn from Bernat Pop for this one. The Caron cakes I have used are light weight (3). The Bernat Pop in contrast is thicker (worsted (4)) and works up into a warmer scarf, which is ideal for colder weather.

The Bernat Pop however, was not sufficient for this scarf, so I reduced the number of rows at the center. Which means that once I reached 43 DCs, I didn’t repeat 5 more times. I just started decreasing.  This didn’t really make a difference for the length as you can see. It is long enough to wrap twice around the neck. Just perfect.

Here are more pictures of different ways that this can be worn.
Here are more colors of Caron cakes and Bernat Pops that I have used to make the same scarf.

If you would like to buy this Scarf, pop over to my Etsy Shop. I have 2 colors available at the moment.

Let me know if you have a favorite go to pattern for your yarn cakes in the comments.

Happy Crocheting!
