Free Crochet Pattern that is so easy and quick, that it makes the perfect gift for someone special.
This soft and beautiful sunglasses pouch is perfect for your sunglasses or reading glasses. Make someone’s day with this cool pouch!
This sunglasses pouch is so quick to make with the pattern repetition that I can get it done in less than 30 minutes.
I created this to match the Iris Crossbody Bag.

Yarn :
Sublime Evie Prints – 1/3 skein – A
Aran weight yarn (94% Cotton, 6% Nylon; 126 yds/115 m per 1.7 oz/50 g skein)
Debbie Bliss – 4 yards – B
Cotton DK – DK weight yarn (100% Cotton; 91 yds/84 m per 1.7 oz/50 g skein)
Hook & Other Materials :
- US Size G/6 (4.0mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Stitch markers
Skill Level : Easy
Sizes/Finished Measurements :
Height: 7”
Width: 3”
Gauge : 15 dc and 7 rows = 4”/10 cm
Abbreviations
Ch – Chain Stitch
Sc – Single Crochet
Hdc – Half Double Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet
Sedge Stitch – (sc, hdc, dc in same st) and skip 2 stitches *Refer to Special Stitches
Sl st – Slip Stitch
Yo – Yarn Over
Sk – Skip number of stitches indicated
( ) – work instructions within the parenthesis in the same stitch as indicated. (Eg: (sc,hdc,dc) in same st)
[ ] – work instructions within brackets as many times as directed
{ } – Stitch count for the row is mentioned in the brackets.
Special Stitches:
Sedge Stitch – *(sc + hdc + dc all in the same st, skip next 2 sts)*
Notes
- Similar DK weight 100% cotton yarns and variegated cotton yarns may be substituted; please check gauge.
- Turning chains count as a stitch.

Pouch Instructions:
Ch 11, Place stitch marker here.
Round 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each till end, (rotate to work the other side of starting chain), hdc in each till end, sl st to marked stitch – {21 hdc = 1 turning chain + 10 hdc on one side + 10 hdc on other side}
Round 2: Ch 2 (Place stitch marker), Hdc in each all around, sl st to marked stitch – {21 hdc (starting Ch 2 counts as 1 hdc)}
** We will be working in the round going forward. So no sl st, no joins and no turns. * Rounds 3 to 15 are all Sedge stitch rows.*
Round 3: Ch 1 (Place stitch marker), (hdc, dc) in same st as ch1, sk 2 st, [(sc,hdc, dc in same st), sk 2 st]– 6 times. – {7 sedge st clusters} DO NOT Slip Stitch to marked stitch. Continue with Round 4.
Round 4: (sc, hdc, dc) in ch1(marked st) of prev row, sk 2 st, [(sc,hdc, dc in next sc), sk 2 st] – 6 times. – {7 sedge st clusters} *Do not remove stitch marker. We will use it as a reference to end the last row*
Round 5: [(sc,hdc,dc)in next sc, sk 2 st] 7 times. – {7 sedge st clusters}
Round 6 – 14: Repeat Round 5. {7 sedge st clusters}
Round 15: Repeat Round 5 till end, sl st to starting sc. (This sl st is in the same line as the stitch marker you placed in Round 3) {7 sedge st clusters}
Round 16 – 17: Ch 2, Hdc in each all around, sl st to starting ch 2 – {21 hdc (starting Ch 2 counts as 1 hdc)}
Round 18 : Sl St all around. Bind Off and Weave in ends.
Cord:
With B, Chain 60, Bind off.
Weave the string in and out of every 3 hdc of Round 16.
Tie a bow and all done.
